American Soldier Slide Show and Captions

2)
A. What is the most powerful image from the slideshows? Why?
The most powerful image for me was when he came home from being in Iraq and his family is walking out with him out of the airport. He is safe and unharmed and im sure the family is extrememly grateful that he is okay.

B. What sequence of photographs is the most powerful? Why?
I think that the basic training photographs were the most powerful because you can see that he worked his butt off. It shows all of the hardships that he had to go through in training to be a good soldier.

C. How do the images work together to tell a story?
The images work together to tell a story because it shows what he had to go through from start to finish. Every little thing that he did was photographed in order and it helps explain everything that happened to him.

3)

Cool Video

The video did a great job showing the school spirit that we have at pep rallys. You should maybe try to get more of a view of the people in the stands that way everyone could have an oppertunity to be shown in the video and not just the diamonds, band, cheerleaders, step team, etc. Nobody is gonna want to get the movie if its just limited to the people that are in organizations. Also, the photos that were put in went by way too fast. It was almost impossible to see what the pictures were showing.

Instagram Photography

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?
I would like to do a theme on school activities. I think that the kids that stay afterschool and that spend there time committing to something instead of going home and doing nothing should be rewarded for the time that they spend.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?
We should open it up to regular cameras becuase the people that don't have camera phones won't be able to do anything and people that do have camera phones might not have the best camera on there phone.

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?
I would want to put the mural over by the front enterance because many people walk through those doors everyday and it would be a great place to display the hard work we have put into it.

Warm Up, HDR Photography

1. What do you have to do on the camera to make this type of photo?
In order to take this type of photo you have to set the camera to the smallest ISO. You must also have high F-Stops and Shutter Speeds.

2. Look up a Canon T3 on google and tell me if it has the ability to shoot bracketed photos?
Yes the Canon T3 is able to shoot bracketed photos. You must use the feature "Auto Exposure Bracketing" to get the photos.

3. Is there a place on campus we could take a series of photos like this?
Yes. There are very many places we could take a series of photos like this because our school has a lot of landscape. We could easily take a series of photos in the courtyard because of the trees, grass, and the big open space.

4. Do a google image search for HDR photos and find your favorite, post it on your blog, tell me why you picked that photo and then tell me what techniques (rules of photography) the photographer used.

I love this photo because of the way the light in the sky looks. The water looks so glossy and it almost looks like glass which makes it look like an allusion. The technique the photographer started using was to take 5 exposures but still keep using the autobraketing. On the camera he used the exposure compensation to take a -4, -2, 0 and then crank the exposer compensation up to 0, 2, 4.

Fixed Photo Shoot Post Reflection

1. What did you learn about the camera when you took these photos?
I learned about how to use ISO and Shutter Speed to make the quality of my photo better. I also learned what ISO and what Shutter Speed to use when i am in different environments.

2.What do you notice about all the photos and the way they look?
Most of the photos are either way too bright or too dark. They look too bright and dark because when you change the shutter speed it only allows a certain amount of light to go into the camera, therefore it either comes out super bright to where you can't see anything at all or super dark where everything looks black.

3. Can you tell the difference between each ISO? Explain how.
Yes. You can tell the difference between each ISO because when you look at the picture if you see a smaller grain then that means that you are using a lower ISO number. But if the photo looks very sharp (ex: action photos) then you are using a higher ISO number.

4. What does this tell you about ISOs and what it does when you change it when you take pictures.
ISO changes how sensitive the photo is to light. When you change the ISO it changes how grainy & how sharp the photo looks. The higher the number the faster the shutter speed & the sharper the image. The lower the number the more pixelated it looks & the slower the shutter speed is.

5. What about focus? Can you see a difference in the photos? Tell me what differences and similarities you see.Yes, you are able to tell the difference of the focus in the photos. When you look in the background with pictures that have a high ISO and a high Shutter Speed you are able to see people walking and they look very blurry. But with pictures that have a low ISO and a low Shutter Speed the images in the background look very sharp.

6. Post the best photo you took on your blog. Make sure to label the following things: ISO, Shutter Speed, F-stop, Distance, Focal Length, Lighting.

7. What do you need to concentrate on when you go out to shoot next time when you have to shoot in Manual setting?
I need to concentrate on where my environment is that way i don't use the wrong ISO & shutter speed. That is basically the only thing that i need to work on.

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them?
-- When i was looking at the pictures i saw a lot of life in all of them. In the sports action photo he captured the action perfectly. Just the way he perfected every photo was amazing to me.

2.) Look at those 2 photos you posted last time. Use your five senses to tell me more about those photos. Answer them on your blog.

I see in one photo many people nicely dressed ballroom dancing. I would assume that they are at a nice fancy party since so many people are in the photo. In the second photo i see a few woman walking down the street & it looks like they have been shopping. They are dressed very nicely while everyone else on the side is in regular t-shirts and shorts. You can also tell that it is a very busy street since there are multiple people sitting on the sides.

I smell in the first photo if i was there i think that i would smell perfume and calogne due to the fact that everyone is dressed up so nicely. In the second photo it would probably smell like trash and car exhaust because they are walking down a very busy street with buses and cars driving by. I would also smell whatever trees or flowers are around.

I hear in the first photo i would hear music playing, because not very many people dance to silence. I would also hear people talking to their partners trying to make small talk with them.
In the second photo i would probably hear the bus and the cars driving down the street. I would also assume that i would hear peoples voices since they are walking around in public.

I would assume that i would taste fruit punch and wine. I would assume that they had wine for the adults and fruit punch for people that don't drink wine. Those are the most two common things that they have a party's. In the second photo i would probably taste the air with pollution in it because they are walking down a busy public street. It is very difficult to have a taste especially when people are outside because the air doesn't really taste like anything at all.

In the first photo i would feel beautiful silky dresses and nice ironed tuexdos. I would also be able to feel many different patterned high heels and nice shiny smooth black shoes. I would also feel many of the round pearl necklaces and earrings that are around there necks. In the second photo the ground would be rough and dirty. The peoples clothes would feel clean and soft. The bench off to the side would feel rough also.
