1. In order to have a good magazine cover you must make sure that everything flows together. Nothing should look strange.
2. Make sure that it has lots of details on the cover to let people know whats inside and what to expect to read.
3. If the cover pops out from its background, don’t weaken it by fussing with it. You’ve probably done something courageous and deserve congratulations. Leave well enough alone.
4. Compare it to other magazine covers. Does it blend in with the rest or does it pop out? If it is a good cover it should appeal to people.
5. Decide what element is worthy of being dominant. You don't want to use too many elements becuase then it'll come out being too distracting.

Lytro Warm Up
1. When i clicked on different parts of the photo it would change the focus of it. It would always either get clear or blurry.
2. The camera allows you to take photos in a different focus and it allows you to change where the focus may be on the photo that you are going to take.
3. The photographer would have to know about all of the rules of photography. They need to use these rules to make sure that they get the best quality and get the most creative images.
4. I believe it is because no other camera will let you change where the focus is on the picture. It allows you to change the focus and make your photos look unique and creative.

Self Portraits and Portraits Part II
Tips:
1) The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. Viewers can sense when a subject is small because it was supposed to be and when it's small because the photographer was too shy to get close. Don't be shy. If you approach people in the right way, they'll usually be happy to have their picture made. It's up to you to break the ice and get them to cooperate. Joke around with them. Tell them why you want to make the picture. Practice with people you know so that you are comfortable; people can sense when you aren't.
2) Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.
This photo is very interesting to me. It seems like there is a lot going on in the background but my eye is still being drawn to the person that the photo is focusing on. It is very interesting and creative.
Photograpy Self Portrait
This is one of my favorite photographs becuase of the lighting they used and how the photographer edited the photo. The way they made the models features stand out looks really cool.
This photo is very interesting becuase of how the photographer made the person stand out by organizing the cd's in a circular design. It shows his personality and part of a story.
Casual Portraits
This casual portrait shows how happy this couple is together. The colors of the grass and the lighting help make the picture look better. Overall it has a very good quality to it.
This is one of my favorite pictures because of how the lockers draw attention to the model. The color of her hair and her clothes help the model pop out.
I plan on going and taking a photo of someone standing outside. I might either get someone to stand up or lean against a wall to have more of a variety. I want to shoot someone that is interesting and won't be shy in front of a camera. I will make the shot successful by making sure the ISO is really low and the shutter speed is higher to make sure that i can get the best quality. I plan on using the rule of thirds to make the photo have more of an effect.
Portraits and Self Portraits
There are many things that are required to make a good photo. You must be very original and creative. Nobody likes looking at pictures that all look the same. With portraits you must block out everything and have a main focus. The photo should have some kind of story behind it and it should catch the viewers attention. When i have the camera in my hands i want to make sure i do all of the things that i already explained in the past few sentences.
